Every online kitchen price has a story

Some websites show a complete kitchen image beside a tempting “from” price. At first glance, it can look as though you can buy the kitchen shown for that amount. But when you read the terms and conditions, the price may cover only the cabinets, panels and trims.

That is where the quote traitors may be hiding.

A worktop.
An appliance.
An end panel.
A plinth.
A sink and tap.

These are not dramatic extras. They are the practical details that help turn a collection of kitchen units into a finished room. Yet they can be excluded from an online price, even when they are clearly visible in the photograph.

The result is a frustrating gap between the price you thought you were going to pay and the much higher price you may be presented with after a design appointment.

At KUBE, we call this our ALL THIS FOR pricing. We show the full price for the kitchen you see, including cabinets and frontals, worktops, appliances, sink and tap, plus finishing details such as end panels and plinths. The price shown in our marketing carries through to the design quote, so you can be confident that the kitchen you want is within your budget.

So, how do you compare online kitchen prices fairly? Start by looking beyond the headline figure and asking what the displayed price actually buys.

What does a kitchen quote actually include?

The phrase “kitchen price” can mean different things to different retailers. One price may refer to kitchen units and frontals only. Another may exclude worktops or appliances so you're not seeing a full kitchen quote.

That is why two prices cannot be compared properly until you know what is included in each one.

A kitchen quote should make it clear whether it includes:

  • Cabinets and frontals
  • Handles
  • Worktops
  • Appliances
  • Sink and tap
  • End panels
  • Plinths
  • Cornices or pelmets, where required
  • Internal fittings and accessories
  • Installation

The exact inclusions will depend on the design and specification. The important thing is that they are clearly stated.

The difference between online “from” pricing and a design quote.

A website “from” price is often an entry point, not the price of everything shown in the photograph.

Some kitchen companies use an online price that covers the cabinets, panels and trims only. The worktops, appliances, sink and tap may be left out of the advertised figure. When those essential items are added, the price you pay for the finished kitchen can be very different from the price that first attracted you.

The formal design quote given after an appointment may then include everything, but you can experience a sharp jump from the original online price. That can feel confusing and disappointing, especially if you believed the kitchen shown was available for the advertised amount.

A website image should not leave you guessing. If a kitchen is displayed with a worktop, appliances, sink and tap, the price should make it clear whether those items are included.

At KUBE, the price shown for the kitchen pictured is the full price you pay for everything you see. No from prices. No hidden extras. And the price does not change simply because you have moved from our website example pricing to a proper design appointment quote. Your final design will reflect your chosen layout and specification, but our approach is clear from the beginning: the advertised price includes the complete kitchen elements shown, rather than just the kitchen cabinets.

This makes it easier to understand whether the kitchen you want is within your budget before you arrange a design appointment.

Who are the quote traitors?

The worktop traitor

The worktop is one of the most visible parts of a kitchen, but it may not be included in a units only price. Check the material, colour, thickness, cut outs, joins, upstands and any other worktop details required for the design.

sink-tap-traitor-icon.webp

The sink and tap traitor

A sink and tap may be visible in the kitchen image but absent from the advertised price. Confirm that both are included and check the exact specification.

The end panel & plinth traitor

End panels help create a finished appearance around exposed cabinet sides. Plinths sit at the base of the units and help complete the run of cabinets. They are easy to overlook because they are not usually the feature that attracts attention in a kitchen photograph.

The appliance traitor

Appliances can make a significant difference to the final kitchen price. Check whether they are included, which brands and models are specified, and whether installation or connection requirements are shown separately.

Handles, cornices, pelmets, lighting and internal accessories can all affect the final specification. Check whether the details shown in the design are included or priced separately.

How KUBE makes online kitchen pricing clearer

At KUBE, ALL THIS FOR pricing means we show the full price for the kitchen pictured, including everything needed to create the complete kitchen design:

CABINETS + WORKTOPS + APPLIANCES + SINK + TAP

The price is based on the elements within the kitchen design. If you add more elements or choose additional extras, the price will increase. Equally, if you remove elements from the design, the price will be lower.

If you want to buy the exact kitchen shown in the image, with those exact elements and specification, it will be that exact price. The price does not suddenly change because you have moved from our marketing to a design appointment.

Your design quote will only change when the design or specification changes. For example, you may choose a different layout, upgraded appliances, a different worktop, extra storage or additional features. Those choices create a different kitchen, so they create a different price. The important point is that you can see what the displayed price represents from the beginning.

INSTALLATION IS SEPARATE, BECAUSE YOU HAVE A CHOICE

We do not add installation costs into the kitchen price. That is because not everyone wants their kitchen installed by us, and that is absolutely fine. You may already have your own trusted installer, or you may prefer to arrange installation independently.

If you would like KUBE to install your kitchen, we can provide an exact installation quote based on your kitchen design for you to consider. Once you accept that quote, we stick by it until the job is complete. If you make a change to the agreed design or scope of work, we will explain any impact before proceeding.

This keeps the product price clear and gives you the freedom to choose how your kitchen is installed.

SUPPLIERS YOU CAN TRUST

We work with well known, reputable appliance, solid worktop, sink and tap suppliers, so the quality of the products selected for your kitchen matches the standards we expect from our own designs.

Depending on your chosen specification, suppliers may include AEG, Hisense, InSinkErator, Rangemaster and Neff. Your quote will confirm the products and specifications included in your chosen kitchen.

GET A COMPARRISON QUOTE WITHIN 48 HOURS

There is nothing to lose by getting an additional quote from KUBE. We turn around kitchen quotes within 48 hours, so you can quickly understand what your complete kitchen will cost and compare it with confidence.

No confusing online starting price followed by an unexpected jump. No need to guess which items are missing. Just a clear kitchen price based on the design you are considering.

ALL THIS FOR pricing means you can see the complete kitchen price from the start.

Final verdict: compare the complete kitchen

A kitchen is more than a row of units. It is the cabinets, frontals, worktops, appliances, sink, tap and finishing details that come together to create the finished room.

That is why the most useful online kitchen price is the one that makes the complete specification clear. A “from” price should not leave you wondering how much the kitchen in the photograph will actually cost.

Before you choose, look for the quote traitors. Ask what is included. Then come and speak to one of our Kitchen Coaches to compare your kitchen quote with a KUBE Kitchen.

At KUBE, we believe clear pricing helps you make better decisions. The full price shown for the kitchen you see is the price you can buy that kitchen from, and it carries through to the design quote. Bring us your quote and we will help you understand the detail, without the unnecessary drama.
