Style, Location and Space

Explore the challenges that went into designing this charming seaside apartment kitchen.

This seaside apartment has panoramic views of the Thames Estuary. Our challenge was to design a kitchen that would not only function flawlessly within the space but also accentuate the location and the picturesque surroundings.

The room we installed the kitchen into is relatively narrow, and the client had their heart set on an island with seating for four. These specifications presented an exciting design challenge and one that Rob, our designer in the Leigh On Sea showroom, was eager to solve. To ensure there was enough space around the island for traffic to move comfortably, we devised a breakfast bar that is more narrow than the width of the main island. The unique breakfast bar fits the contours of the room nicely and facilitates face-to-face dining.

The result is a beautiful kitchen from our Sirius-C range in Mohair Gloss. The breakfast bar is in Limes Oak with a matching splashback and cladding behind the open shelving. The worktop is Silestone in Coral Clay on the island and in the prep zone which reflects the style and location harmoniously. Siemens appliances feature throughout including an induction hob with a retractable extractor. The kitchen is sleek and streamlined in appearance but is bursting with useful features that are befitting to comfortable modern living.
